Our Story

My name is Dominic Hutchings, the founder of Mr H Bars. I’ve always had a deep love and appreciation for the best food and nutrition. My obsession today is to create the very best protein bars for everyone.

“What makes you think your bars can be better than every other protein bar out there?” 

A very good question. So to my story…

At 16, I gained a place on The Specialised Chef's Scholarship run by The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts with my placement being Coworth Park - Part of The Dorchester Collection. I went on to graduate in 2016 and launch into a career as a pastry chef.

 

I rose through the ranks quickly, working at the top hotels and restaurants with top chefs including with Heston Blumenthal at his world renowned Fat Duck in Berkshire.  

As my skills and knowledge grew, I worked for Michelin starred restaurants, and became Head Pastry Chef at the well known Wentworth Golf Club.

 

My love of chocolate grew, and I began to compete in pastry and chocolate competitions. Having created my own chocolate brand, I was lucky enough to win 8 awards at the Academy of Chocolate Annual Awards, and was asked to return each year as a judge of the competition.

It was with this background and experience that, in 2020, I began to experiment with recipes for a range of protein bars. They had to deliver a hit of protein and taste delicious. I also wanted them to have a minimum number of ingredients, avoid artificial additives, be all natural and show off the very best chocolate.

After much research into ingredients, recipe development and enthusiastic taste testing in my local gym, I had my first few recipes and Mr H Bars was born.
